Dental Implants Edinburgh

Dental Implants can help with denture problems in one of two ways. You can either use a few implants to stabilise the denture and hold it steady in your mouth or you can use a greater number if implants to replace the denture completely with something that is fixed in place. Often referred to as screw in teeth, nothing could be further from the truth . Our team of dentists have been working with dental implants for a number of years and no matter what your goals or budget are well placed to advise you on your dental implant choices.

Loose Denture Stabilisation

Generally denture stabilisation with implants is carried out on the lower jaw using just 2 implants to hold the lower denture in place.

On the upper jaw 4 implants are usually required. The denture clips firmly down over the implants using a press stud type arrangement.

Inside the denture are 2 housings that contain caps that are changed tiny to make the denture more ore less secure depending on your needs.

All On 4 - Denture Replacement With Implants

With this technique as few as 4 implants can be used to support a bridge that replaces all of your missing teeth and gums. In many cases it is even possible to have a temporary bridge made to be fitted the same day that the implants are placed. Allowing you to get rid of your denture sooner than you might have imagined.

At an initial assessment our dentists can look at your situation and give you a great overview of the options that you have if you would like to get rid of your denture all together.

Smaller denture Replacement

Dentures with just 1 or two teeth can often be easily replaced with dental implants supporting a bridge on top. The actual number of implants depends very much on the overall number and location of the teeth being replaced. Our dentists are happy to provide advice on this for you.

Most patients are surprised at just how comfortable the whole process is from start to finish. Implants were once considered experimental but are now an everyday part of dentistry.
